これで停滞している Mixminion の開発も刺激が出て進んでくれたら嬉しいんですが。

SONY は Rootkit をアンインストールするリクエストの受付を始めています。

上記のサイトで SONY BMG は Rootkit をアンインストールするリクエストの受付をしています。

ざっと色々なサイトを見てみた所 The End User License Agreement (EULA) に明記せずに Rootkit をインストールしてそれをアンインストールするメカニズムを提供していないのは違法行為じゃないかという事のようです。

法律的な話はよく分かりませんが、音楽業界はパソコンやハードディスクに著作権料を一律に課金しようとしたり、それが汎用的な用途のものだという認識が欠 けているからシステムを乗っ取るハッキングに使われるようなツールを使用者によく説明もしないでインストールしたりするんじゃないかと思います。

上記のサイトも氏名などの個人情報を要求したりして、横柄な印象を受けます。

コピー出来ないようにする為に Rootkit（Google の HTML バージョン）（ITmedia: Rootkit）を埋め込んでいて、簡単にアンインストール出来なくて（Rootkit なので見付ける事も難しい）、アンインストールするとシステムがおかしくなるという事のようですが、やりすぎで US の法律で訴えられるんじゃないかというような感じだと思います。
間違いがあるといけないので上のリンクを確認して下さい。

まあ私も SONY には色々と頭に来ることも有りますし、日本では消費者がおとなしいのでそういう手段に訴える人は少ないんですが、ここは一つ外圧でがんばって貰いたいと思います。

CodeCon 2006

CodeCon 2006 が２月１０日～１２日にサンフランシスコで開催されるそうです。

CodeCon というのは最先端ソフトウェア開発のショーケースで、プレゼンテーションは英語で行い、実際に動作するソフトウェアのデモンストレーションが必要でプログラムの開発者によって行われる必要があるそうです。
下記のようなソフトウェアを対象にしているそうです。

* development tools - languages, debuggers, version control
* file sharing systems - swarming distribution, distributed search
* security products - mail encryption, intrusion detection, firewalls


メンバーを見るとハッカーと言うよりサイファー・パンクスのコンテストのようです。

腕に覚えのある方は応募してみてはいかがでしょうか？
残念ながら私にはそんなスキルはありませんが。

締め切りが１１月１５日と１２月１５日なので今から作っていては間に合わないと思いますし、日本から簡単に参加するという訳にはいかないと思いますが、最近はこういった方面のソフトウェアは停滞気味なので面白いソフトウェアが出てきて欲しいと思います。

バックリンクが使えるように成りました :-)

以前にバックリンクの設定が出来るように成っているが、機能してないんじゃないか？
と書いていましたが、私が悪かったようです。

新しく作った Shu's Blog に Feedburner を設定していて気付いたんですが、Feedburner の設定の為にテンプレートを変更していました。

Blogger.com を疑っていました。ごめんなさい！

でもこれ、リンク数か何かが表示されないと一々チェックしないと思うけど・・・

EFF is looking for Tor DMCA test case volunteers.

少し前の記事でも触れましたが、Tor のサーバのオペレータやその ISP の所に著作権の団体等から著作権を侵害しているという様なメール等が来ているそうです。
それで、EFF （Tor をサポートしている団体） は Tor のサーバを運営する事自体は何の問題もないという前例を作る事は非常に重要なので、その為のボランティア（米国在住の人）を探しているそうです。

誤訳が有ったりするといけないので、下に転載しておきます。

If record label and movie studio representatives continue sending
infringement notices to Tor node operators and their upstream ISPs,
it will become increasingly important to set a clear legal precedent
establishing that merely running a node does not create copyright
liability for either node operators or their bandwidth providers. In
order to establish such a precedent, it will be necessary to bring or
defend a test case. EFF is actively seeking clients willing to be the
test case.

Picking the right client is half the battle in any test case.
Accordingly, we cannot promise that we will be able to defend any and
all Tor node operators. There are several factors that are relevant
in finding the right test case client. Here are some of them:

1. You must have received a complaint from a copyright owner about
operating a Tor node. Complaints from your ISP about running a proxy
do not count, even if they mention copyright infringement as the
reason for their objection -- that's a contractual fight between you
and your bandwidth provider. We are looking for node operators who
have either received copyright complaints directly, or forwarded to
them from their ISPs.

2. You should not be an infringer yourself, or be engaged in any
other kind of unlawful activity. In litigation, the copyright owners
will want to examine every hard drive and email message in your
possession or control, looking for evidence that you are running Tor
because you want to encourage people to infringe copyright. So if you
are a big file-sharer, warez trader, or are involved in any other
unlawful activities (even if unrelated to Tor), you are probably not
the right person.

3. You should have a legitimate reason to run Tor. If you are the
client for the test case, you will be deposed under oath and asked
why you run Tor. You should be able to truthfully respond in a way
that does not suggest that you are doing it to encourage any illegal
activity, including copyright infringement. For example, running it
because you value free speech is a legitimate reason. Same if you are
running it for research purposes. Any documentary evidence from your
past (e.g., emails, papers presented, etc) should not contradict your
story. Most Tor node operators will qualify under this criteria, but
if you wrote a bunch of emails and bulletin board posts describing
how great Tor will be for the coming copyright revolution, you are
probably not the ideal client.

4. You should be willing to see the case through. Litigation takes
time -- often several years. The process will occasionally involve
some inconvenience, including depositions and allowing the other side
to go through most documents in your possession or control (including
email, hard drives, etc). EFF will provide the legal services for
free. But there is some risk of personal liability for damages,
perhaps amounting to several thousand dollars, if we lose. We will do
everything to minimize the risk, but cannot eliminate it altogether.

5. You should be located in the United States. Your Tor server should
also be located in the United States.

6. You should have an upstream bandwidth provider who will stand by
you. It would be less than ideal if your upstream ISP terminates your
account before we ever get to court.

BlogSpot の評判が悪いな・・・

Tempted by blogs, spam becomes 'splog'
ここ以外でも色々な所で記事になっていますが、自動で何千ものブログを BlogSpot で作成するようなツール（どこかにリンクもありましたが・・・）が有るそうです。
自動でコメントを付ける Bot の襲撃は私も受けましたが・・・

それで、「BlogSpot をブログサーチのインデックスから削除するように」等と過激な事を言っている人もいますし、実際サーチエンジンを運営している所等も対策を取ってくれないとそういう事も考えられるような事を言っています。
新しくブログを作成する時にスパムよけの文字を入力するように成ったようですが・・・

それでなくてもここは Google のウェブ検索にインデックスされないと嘆いていたのにブログサーチからも閉め出されたら・・・

ブログの出現で怪しくなったがこういうツールまで出てくるようになると、Google が考え出し、現在、殆どの検索エンジンが採用しているリンクで重要度を測る方法も難しくなって来そうな気がする。

Tor が最近繋がらないのは Bit Torrent が原因らしい。

ここでもコメントに書き込まれていましたが、最近、断続的に Tor が繋がりにくくなり Privoxy で 404 になる事が多くなっています。
Privoxy で 404 になるのはネットワークに負荷が掛かりすぎている時だと開発者の方がおっしゃっていました。
そして、その原因は Bit Torrent が Tor 経由で使われているからのようです。
サーバを立ち上げている人の所へメールが来たりしているそうです。

これに関して私のコメントは控えておきます。
（著作権がらみでコメントして変な人が寄ってきたら面倒くさい。 ）

それから、 プライバシーを守る為のソフトウェアに Entropy へのリンクを追加しておきました。

Rbtor が Twisty Remailer として戻ってきたようです。

ISP と規約上で問題が発生した Rbtor が契約を変更して Twisty として戻ってきたようです。
テスト運用が開始されています。

ブログ検索エンジン NAMAAN

NAMAAN という検索エンジンはまだ新しいようでデータ等は少ないようですが、速報性を重視したブログ検索エンジンだそうです。

Ping サーバは Ping Servers List に追加しておきました。

確かに待ち望んでいたんですが・・・

Cryptonomicon は Google にインデックスされない ので Yahoo! がサイト内検索を提供してくれるのを待ち望んでいました。

でも、チェックしてみると、なんと！
いつの間にかMSN サーチの方がきっちりとインデックスしてくれているではないか。
知らなかった・・・
なかなかやるな、MSN サーチ

という訳で、Yahoo! の方は更新の頻度などは良いようですが、取り敢えず MSN サーチのままでいいか・・・
面倒くさいし・・・

という気持ちになっています。

BlogPulse

BlogPulse はブログの検索やトレンドを分析するサイトですが、なかなか面白くて将来性を感じました。

例えば「阪神」で検索するとブログの検索エンジンのように「阪神」というキーワードを含むブログが表示されます。

そして trend this というのをクリックすると全ポストの内の何パーセントがそのキーワードを含んでいるかがグラフで表示されます。
「阪神」の場合だと優勝した時にグラフが跳ね上がっているのがよく分かります。
そして、そのグラフをクリックするとその時期の「阪神」というキーワードを含むブログが表示されるので、その時期にどういう意見が多かったのかというような事が分かります。

また、表示されたブログを書いている人が他にどんな記事を書いているかを見たり、その記事からの会話を追跡したりも出来るようです。

このぐらいまで分析出来るように成ってくると色々と実用的な使い方も有るような気がしてきます。

私は Blogger.com のテンプレートを使っているので、設定でチェックを入れるだけで表示されるように成りました。

しか～し、見事に何処からもリンクされていない。

まぁそれは横に置いておいて、私は個人的にはトラックバックは押しつけがましいような気がして余り好きじゃないんでこっちの方が良いような気もする。
余り良い所も悪い所も考えないで最初の印象だけですが・・・

記事単位にバックリンクを表示しない設定に出来るみたいですが、リンク単位には出来ないのかな？
何せ記事に対してバックリンクが無いので確認出来ません。
もし出来ないならリンクを張るなとも言えないし、またスパムが問題になるような気もするが・・・

Daat が復活という未確認情報が有りましたが、Daat の Mixmaster Keyring と Cypherpunk Keyring が新しく登録されています。
ニムサーバも復活するのかな・・・

Remailer の説明を修正しました。

Cryptonomicon の Remailer で リメイラー の説明が訳の分からない文章になっていました。
申し訳有りませんでした。

今は分かり易く成ったのか？

Cypherpunk Remailer

Cryptonomicon や Cryptonomicon News に Cypherpunk や Remailer List で検索して来られる方が多いんですが、多分そういう方は Type-I anonymous remailer の Cypherpunk についての情報を探しておられるのだと思います。
Cryptonomicon で具体的な使い方等を紹介しようかとも思うんですが、Type-I remailer は初期の頃から脆弱性が指摘されており現在は主流ではありません。

Type-II anonymous remailer の Mixmaster にはリプライの機能がない為にニムのリプライ・リメイラー・チェインとして等今も使われてはいますが、Mixmaster の方が安全ですし、比較的簡単に使えるクライアント・ソフトも有りますのでそちらを使われる事をお勧めします。

クライアント・ソフトは Windows の方なら Jack B. Nymble(JBN Panta mod) か QuickSilver が有ります。
QuickSilver　については QuickSilver で使い方等を紹介していますので参考にして下さい。
リメイラー全般については Remailer で紹介していますので参考にして下さい。

Remailer List (capstring or stats?) は Canonical List of All Pingers で探せば良いと思います。

私も Yahoo! Site Explorer を試してみました。
意外な所からリンクがあったり、凄いタイミングでインデックスしているなというのがあったりしてなかなかおもしろいです。
よく分かりませんがテクノラティ等での検索結果があったりもしました。
それに、ブログが被リンクが多くなるというのもよく分かりました。
各投稿からリンクされている事になるようですからね・・・

確かに site: や link: を付けて検索するような感じですけど少し検索結果が違うような気もします。
でも Yahoo! は自分のサイトを検索した時にきっちりとインデックスされているので気持ちが良い。
それに比べて Google は・・・
を通り越して です。 lol

The PC is dedicated to a remailer at this time.
At a later date, it will also host a Tor node and posibly a Type 3
remailer.

The PC is a Dell Optiplex, 3.2 Ghz, 80 Gb hard disk.
The PC, Cable Modem, and Router are connected to a dedicated UPS to provide
a minimum of 5 minutes or more uptime in the event of a short power outage.
The UPS is monitored via a USB connection.
Switching between it and the Primary PC is via a USB hardware/software
switch.

I would greatly appreciate any guidance that anyone has to offer on my
configuration of Reliable. At this time, I am not sending out dummy traffic
so bare in mind that volume may be low initially.

I have not figured out how to get the Anon Post Directive to work. At this
time it is disabled. Any help would be much appreciated.

This has been a couple of week process (in my little spare time) to get it
setup. Since the PC (3 months old) was returned from a cusomer site where
it was being used as a Human Machine Interface, and a revamp of the network
required the addition of a card that would not fit into the small case, I
relegated it to service here.

In the very basic steps, I wiped the hard drive, low level formatted it and
re-installed the OS (XP Pro). That in itself was a chore.

Well, I think the biggest part of the ordeal is behind me. Now I am asking
for help and or suggestions to improve the reliabity and configuration of
Reliable.

Of course, if this does not show up, I still have a hole somewhere :)

Google とはどうも相性が悪いようです・・・

Fenris Blog の http://fenris.blog26.fc2.com/blog-entry-5.html に Google Blog Search は主要なピングサーバを監視してRSSフィードを読み込んでいるとありますが、それで Cryptonomicon は古い情報が少しだけしかインデックスされていないのか・・・
Anhur's Blog と Cryptonomicon News は殆ど全ページがインデックスされてるのに。

Cryptonomicon でも最初の内は意味がよく分からなくて RSSフィードしていたんですが、あっちの方はブログとは言えないと思って止めたんです。
場所を変えて普通のウェブサイトの形にしようかとも思っていたんですが、今のやり方は適当に追加していくだけなのですごく楽なんで・・・

Google からはブログと思われて普通のウェブ検索にはインデックスされないようですし、ブログの検索にもインデックスされないのか・・・
しかもこちらに書いたようにサンドボックスとやらに入れられている可能性もある・・・

Google はもうどうでもいいか・・・

Fixed Create surb not exiting subroutine when 'Cancel' button selected on

Added msgbox in the create SURB routine to remind user about SURB lifetime
and advise how to change the default seven day value.

Added 'No SURB Lifetime Reminder' to Options menu, if checked, the above
msgbox will stay quiet.

The "Add" buttons no longer clear the value being added

The 'Create Dummy Packet' function now uses the first and last hop selectors
and the number of hops selector to determine dummy traffic paths.

Mixminion(decode) を追加しました。

Cryptonomicon の Type-III Remailer に Mixminion(decode) を追加しました。
SURB を使って送信されてきたメッセージの復号のやり方です。

Type-III Remailer は現在ベータバージョンでサーバもテスト運用中ですので、高い匿名性が要求されるような所では使わないように注意して下さい。

ニムの機能はどうなってるのかな？
テストサーバが立ち上がってないだけなのかな？
それともまだインプリメントされていないのだろうか？

普通のリメイラーの機能は Mixmaster でそんなに不自由はしていないので、ニムの機能を早く何とかして欲しい・・・

single use reply block(SURB) を MS-DOS コマンドラインからチェックする方法です。
クライアント・ソフトの MMS はまだベータ・バージョンとも言えないようなレベルだったので、コマンドラインから Mixminion を直接使う方法を一通り紹介したいと思っています。

Due hardware problems Italy remailer shut down.

ハーウェアトラブルの為 Italy remailer は現在使えないそうです。
来週には元に戻して使えるようにしたい。
と Italy Admin からアナウンスがありました。

tek1 mixmaster は９月２３日から使えないそうです。

tek1 mixmaster は９月２３日から使えなくなるというアナウンスが Tek1 のアドミンからありました。
一時的にだろうか？
また追加情報があればお知らせします。
